Have you met our Oakleigh Osteopath Nathan?!! Nathan is coming up to his one year anniversary, so we thought we’d tell you a bit about him!
Why did Nathan become an Osteopath?
Coming from a sporting background, Nathan was fascinated with how the body functions as a whole, which led him to Osteopathy. He completed a double degree of Bachelor of Health Science and Masters of Osteopathy at Victoria University.
As an Osteopath, Nathan has worked with soccer and football clubs, taking roles in treating, managing and preventing injuries.
Nathan also has experience in working with many different community groups. Being involved in community clinics providing treatment to people living under difficult circumstances to working in rural Tasmania. Nathan has been exposed to a large variety of musculoskeletal injuries and psychosocial cases.
How would Nathan describe himself as an Osteopath?
Nathan treats with a heavy emphasis on patient education and rehabilitation, with the goal in mind to improve patient confidence in themselves and their bodies. You can expect a combination of hands on treatment mixed with some form of individualised exercise when being treated by Nathan.
Nathan enjoys treating conventionally, in addition to excelling his patients physical capacity throughout their day to day life or in specific sports. He does this by utilising rehabilitation programs, home care and ergonomic advice.
Nathan has a particular interest and experience in working with geriatric populations, understanding and improving gut health and rheumatic conditions.
Recently, Nathan has completed his Level 1 in Myofascial Dry Needling and Cupping, so he now utilises these techniques in his treatments.
How does Oakleigh Osteopath Nathan spend his spare time?
Recently returning from living overseas in Spain and Greece Nathan enjoys to learn about cultures and embraces new and exciting opportunities. When Nathan isn’t working he enjoys surfing, fishing, meditation, watching films and relaxing at a cafe.
Nathan speaks both English and Greek.
